I get internet and cable from Comcast in Eugene and the same in Tucson when
we are there. I have VOIP from ViaTalk and have both Tucson and Eugene
numbers on the same account. That means our phone rings no matter which
house we are at or which number was called. You can't do that with Comcast.
Also ViaTalk costs as little as $150/year. That's about half what Comcast
voice would add to your bundle price.

Another advantage of a non-Comcast Voip service is that ViaTalk allows the
use of Asterisk, which gives you a lot more options if you are into VOIP.

I find the Comcast Internet to be reasonable. Many people seem to have
unrealistic expectations. The Cable service is adequate as well, though I
got a TivoHD to replace the Comcast DVR. That's a good upgrade.

I'm moving off my Wireless Share, finally!  Now I can get a hardwire
for loading Ubuntu.  I hope someone could point me  to the most Linux
friendly approach to broadband.

If I'm stuck with Comcast, anybody got some horror stories about their
Internet + Phone service bundle?
