What does not work?
In other words, what software is failing? What software/drivers have
you been trying?
Are you using stock kernels in those Mandrivas?
Have you tried a bootable distro and/or gotten the webcam to work on
any other system?
I had no problems with a usb webcam years ago; I used "motion" as well
as various bttv-driven stuff for manual viewing & recording.
