[Eug-lug] Social outreach for the ELUG

I'm finally migrating in earnest to the Linux desktop...I know I've been a
pain in the ass over the years, but I never was a Linux expert; just an
artist.

Some may know that I've been working on a life sized TUX Costume...for yucks
and such; mainly for social outreach for the Linux community.

I am going to make that my top priority for an outing to the Eugene
Celebration.  My plan is to walk the sidelines of the parade route handing
out origami fish with an Ubuntu message and a reference to ELUG.  My
objective is to bring new converts in to discuss Blender 3D rendering for
science education on the Linux desktop.

My approach will be a Newbie 2 Newbie "let's learn together" strategy.  This
is my last effort to find local support for my project before I chain myself
to my computer for the next two years.

hopefully there will be increased traffic on our mailing list, I intend to
field questions, but I will not hold their hands, unless they show strong
interest in the Art end of the house.  I hope this meets with the groups
approval; if not, I will drop the ELUG reference and use my email address to
communicate.

Given the direction that IBM, Linden Labs, and nVidia are taking, I feel
this is and opportunity, and not a burden for our group (not that I've added
much over the years...but I hope to change that.)
