[Eug-lug] OT: what fun stuff to do is there in Portland

Ahh, Ground Kontrol, I had a blast there one time but didn't catch the name.
There was a crazy band, sorta KISS-like but unique.... the whole place felt
retro-mod or something undescribably cool -- okay, I had a few drinks in me
already and it was a quick stop on a raucous bachelor party tour... anyway,
I think Portland has many riches to offer, depending on your mode. There's
some sort of architecture tour I keep seeing people doing, and the river
paths offer a nice stroll or bike ride (bikes can be rented too). Dining in
the Pearl district is fancy & great but there's better bang-for-the-buck
elsewhere.
Along with Powell's, used music & clothing stores might appeal to others who
aren't in the large urban environment much; and speaking of which, ride an
elevator up some tall building to catch a view :)
I think our advice is too late for Jason D's weekend though!
