[Eug-lug] NERDvana! Wireless Ubuntu, finally!

I can't believe it's been this long and strange trip.  I spent most of it
getting a solid wireless connection: including moving computers into the
garage, buying specific equipment, etc.

I'm actually writing this on windows, but it's days are numbered, and that's
less then three, WHEEE!

Once I had a solid wireless connection I went after Gutsy Gibbon.  A couple
of false starts, but loading 7.10 into a 'puter with Dlink's WDA-1320 PCI
card and BOOM, "which wireless network would you like, sir" sez the 'puter.

So my first question is: Is it reasonable to assume that, with security
updates installed, running AVG, I am about as secure, or better, then my
previous Windows environment?  That is, can I on-line bank under Gutsy
Gibbon?  My access point is well Firewalled.  I think the answer is yes, but
I'd like to here from the experts.
