The founder, Mark Shuttleworth is from South Africa, but Canonical has a
main office in London (other offices 'round the world). Officially, it's
registered in the Isle of Man; which I believe means they aren't
operating under any laws in particular, but they're trying to respect
laws in various countries when it comes to certain restrictions.
