I've used "quicktime for linux" in the past, with good luck,

I used dag's rpms, here is libquicktime:
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/libquicktime/
(dag.wieers.com was a great source for my fedora "alt" packages, media
support and also
lots of other applications)
