[Eug-lug] xorg.conf makes me want to hurt people

Why is it that I can buy a laptop with a 17" 1920x1200,
but I can't get that on a desktop lcd?  Just price-point for mfgs?
Maybe in medical imaging and research... 100+dpi lcd's should
be in more consumer products :)
