[Eug-lug] dns (?) problems

if you suspect DNS issues you can use
host -d <hostname>
to get a detailed trace of the lookup
if it's one of those cheapjack disposable firewall thingies and it's
started to go wonky on you, its time to dispose of it and get a newer
one ;-)
