Don't think of them as a direct competitor to a laptop/desktop. Think of 
them as a more functional, larger, PDA.  This would not be your main 
workstation. You wouldn't want to work on this every minute, but as far 
as a portable media/internet/email, I think this would be very useful. 
Especially for the weight/size. Also, they run Linux which is even 
better. Better power management, better customization, more 
possibilities, less Windows, less lock-in, etc.
