FreshMeat searches just aren't as useful as they used to be -- if you're
logged into your FM account all is well,
but whenever I'm visiting someone else's computer and trying to answer a
quick question and show off how many
suitable solutions exist in the open source space, often lesser-quality and
obscure solutions are prominent...
For instance:
http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=3Dbandwidth+monitor§ion=3Dprojects&Go.x=
=3D0&Go.y=3D0
says "Not logged in" where I should be able to sort by rating, which I find
crucial.
Hence, my use of FM (and some other OSDL sites) has waned in favor of the
generalized search engine of the week. :(
I'd like to see OSDL flourish -- why this apparent crippling, oh why?
