[Eug-lug] installing firefox add-ons

Ahah, sorry I didn't catch your own followup before I tried to help :)

A few questions:  What OS?  Is this on linux?
Did you restart FF after attempting to enable installation of add-ons?
(check the process list to make sure)

IIRC, FF by default allows extensions to be installed from mozilla.org --
there are some nifty extensions elsewhere and those sites do need to be
permitted.
