I think I was the one who posted that the 1501 does not have a IEEE
1394 port.  If you look at Dells web site page for the 1501 it does
not list Firewire or IEEE 1394 as a port.  If you spend some more cash
the 1505 and the E1705 have 1394 but not the 1501.  On the leap of
faith that the firewire port picture was from a 1501 manual.  Dell
might send out the same poster / manual for both the 1501 and 1505.
If that's the case you might be able to get your self a 1505 from dell
because what's on the laptop is not in the manual.  You might have to
read the fine print that says firewire only on 1505.  If your in need
of the firewire port you might be able to return the laptop and pay
some more cash to get to the 1505.
