[Eug-lug] Am I missing the big picture?

Sorry I don't have anything to offer -- old machinery is the most difficult
problem.
If you had two, you could probably donate one to a driver writer and get
something done :)
Have you tried other distro's? There are a lot of bootable CD's out there,
and trying a handful
might just produce results without getting too detailed. I suppose it
depends if you want it to
"just work", or if you want to know how it works.

Video drivers are not taboo, and you can leak where you like around here I
think. There was one other recent thread though, with no replies that I
saw, about setting up both 3D and wifi on machines, and something about how
those tend to conflict? I'm guessing some personal bad experiences are
being reflected here... for the silent among us, presume it is "just
working" I suppose. I'd suggest trying a different card or distro or
something... keep trying.

cheers with a NW microbrew (not a seasonal ale though),

    Ben
