Loaded Ubuntu6.1 on a decrepit, ancient Compaq that
was generously configured and supplied with a whopping
128mb of bad RAM and an ATI Rage IIC AGP video card. 

After figured out that I had some bad memory, OS
loaded perfectly.  Unfortunately now only given 640 x
400, 60hz as video resolution option and therefore can
only see a bit of the unsizable windows.

Have gone to the ends of the earth to locate the fix
to what looks like a pretty common bug and can only
see manual (command line) config instructions that
seem to vary so greatly, that I am not willing to
attempt it myself.

Any ideas?  Like using a LiveCD version to capture the
exact video configuration, etc.?  

Will probably end up bringing it to the Thursday
meeting...
