ARD (apple remote desktop) is an vnc derivative work. Provided by 'macos'
you mean their current offering of OSX then it should work just fine... as
there are both commerical (ARD) and opensource (VNC etc) offerings

(newer vnc clients can connect to ard hosts just fine)
