I don't know, but I don't think you can do much with Linux in most of the
extra firmwares,
I don't know, again, but I group them into two sets, by purpose:
1) get more out of the hardware (capabilities, security, etc)
2) have fun tinkering and see what you can do yourself

Can you SSH into the DD-WRT, for instance?
