I'll echo these responses - I looked long and hard at the Thinkpads
before I decided I wasn't worth the extra $$ and bought the Dell 1501. 

(I have a Thinkpad here at work, just under a year old and I love
it...if only I didn't have to support Windows users, I'd love to put
linux on this thing.)
