Another nice tool in the same vein is Kodos.  Kodos is a standalone
Python/Qt app.  It recognizes Python regular expressions, which are
a slight extensionn of Perl 5 regexps.

It might be in your distribution.  (It's in Ubuntu and Gentoo.)
