Okay, okay.  "Painful" is too strong a word.  But it's nonintuitive
that C-A ESC puts you into "copy mode", then C-U and C-D move by half
screens, then typing any character not recognized in copy mode will
scroll to the bottom and exit copy mode.

Compare that to a naked terminal window's scroll bar along with SHIFT
PAGEUP and SHIFT PAGEDOWN.
