[Eug-lug] grrrr.... damn computers! current dmesg included!

yeah, i did try that, and /dev/hde, and f, g.
I also found something in the kernel:
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_SATA

It mentions enabling this for ide drives. I tried it with and w/out the 
sata_sis. Ive also tried sata_sis as a module, Ive also tried adding it to 
the initrd with mkinitrd. 
Ive even moved the drives to the secondary controller (they show up, but its 
only a a ata100 controller...)

no matter what I do libata's output remains the same. it just doesnt show my 
drives.
