Greetings all,
First off, I send a THANK YOU to everyone that helped me out with my CD BURNER
question. It's working great and it's great to know that there are people
out there that still remember that they once were where I am now....
Do have another question.....
Add a CD ROM to make burning a bit easier. The CDROM shows up on my desktop
as being mounted at /mnt/cdrom. I've tried to use it to view files on a CD
but no luck. Thought I'd try to unmount/remount it but when I did I get the
message:
umount: /mnt/cdrom is not mounted (according to mtab)
Looking at mtab I see the following:
/dev/hda1 / ext3 rw 0 0
none /proc proc rw 0 0
none /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs rw 0 0
none /dev devfs rw 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts rw,mode=0620 0 0
/dev/hda6 /home ext3 rw 0 0
none /mnt/floppy supermount
rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,sync,dev=/dev/fd0,fs=auto,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,umask=0
0 0
The error msg leads me to believe that I need to add a line to mtab to mount
the CDROM but I don't know what it should be! Tried a Google search but
couldn't find anything relevant. RTFM and got even more confused!
I'm learning slow but sure so if anyone has some relevant and sage advice I
would truly appreciate it.
Thanks,

Called up the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms regional office
and asked, "What wine goes best with an M-16?" The guy who answered did
his best to be helpful: "That depends. What are you smoking?"
